Asagi - A koi with a bluish back with reticulated scale pattern. some red on cheeks , flanks and pectoral fins
Bekko - Black sanke type markings on a red, white or yellow base
Doitsu - A Koi with no scales
Fukurin - The net effect of lustrous skin around the scales of metallic Koi
Gin-Rin - A koi with reflective silver scales
Hanatsuki - A Hi pattern that reaches the mouth
Hi - Red
Hikarimoyo - Class for all multicoloured metallic koi except the Utsuri and Showa
Hi Utsuri - A black koi with red or orange makings
Inazuma - A lighting strike pattern on a Koi
Ippon hi - A red pattern running from the nose to the tail of the Koi
Kawarimono- Class for all non- metallic koi not included in any other group
Ki Utsuri - A black koi with yellow markings
Kikusui - Doitsu platinum Koi with metallic orange markings
Kiwa - A border of red scales overlaying white scales
Kohaku - A white koi with red markings
Kokesuke - Semi- translucent
Kuchibeni- Red lips, it literally means 'lipstick'
