Stocking levels
Initially in a new pond, it is strongly recommended that you keep only a few small fish, this is because your filter will not be working efficiently and take several months to start to become affective. Fish may be added slowly over a period of time as your filter becomes more mature. Overstocking of your pond is not advisable, this may cause health problems. There are other important factors with regards to stocking levels including total surface areas, oxygen levels and filter efficiency.
